The Disarmament & International Security Committee (DISEC), comprising representatives from all 193 United Nations member states, plays a key role in promoting worldwide demilitarisation efforts. It serves as a centralised platform for discussing issues related to threats against security infrastructure across the globe, originating from diverse sources such as transnational terror groups or the escalation of military activities in peaceful regions. Expert groups like the Disarmament Commission and the Conference on Disarmament provide valuable insights and analysis of complex situations, aiding the First Committee in formulating recommendations that enhance global stabilisation.

While the DISEC lacks the authority to enforce specific executive actions, its suggestions are highly regarded and frequently considered by the United Nations Security Council, leading to action on important matters.

Social, Cultural and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM)

1. The Representation of Indigenous Communities in Political Systems
2. The Prohibition of Child Soldiers in State-Sponsored Violence

The Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM) serves a critical purpose within the United Nations, aiming to address and tackle pressing global issues related to social development, human rights, and cultural preservation. SOCHUM strives to promote inclusivity, equality, and justice by fostering open and constructive dialogue among representatives from all 193 member states. Its primary goal is to protect and advance human rights, ensure social welfare, and preserve cultural diversity.

Through the sharing of perspectives, expertise, and best practices, SOCHUM aims to generate innovative solutions and recommendations that contribute to the betterment of societies worldwide. By addressing challenges such as poverty, discrimination, education, and cultural preservation, SOCHUM plays a vital role in building a more compassionate, equitable, and harmonious global community.

Special Political and Decolonisation Committee (SPECPOL)

1. Territorial Sovereignty in Post-Soviet States
2. Indigenous Resource Consent and Repatriation of Colonised Lands

The Special Political and Decolonisation Committee (SPECPOL) holds a significant purpose within the United Nations, focusing on addressing unique political challenges and decolonisation efforts around the world. The committee’s aims revolve around promoting peace, stability, and self-determination for all nations and peoples. SPECPOL endeavours to address issues such as the resolution of territorial disputes, the eradication of colonialism, and the promotion of political autonomy. By providing a platform for discussions, negotiations, and collaboration, SPECPOL seeks to foster peaceful resolutions and create a more just and balanced international order. With the participation of representatives from all member states, SPECPOL aims to address complex political issues and work towards a world free from colonialism and political oppression.
